Ostrander Beach (the “public” beach) will be open to Town of Salisbury permit holders on Tuesday July 7. Barring changes to state or town Covid-19 directives, it will remain open (8AM-8PM) for the rest of the season. Permit holders have been informed that social distancing will be required; the # of users at any one time will be limited (taking into consideration folks using campsites #3 and 4). The beach may be closed at any time, if circumstances warrant. Many permit holders have expressed gratitude and strong support for MRI’s efforts to keep everyone who uses the beach as safe as possible.
The Maintenance and Security Committee recommended, and the Officers agreed that is that North Pond Rd gate be kept closed, not locked, as it is now, until July 7. This will help Dan do his job, and discourage uninvited explorers, especially over this busy weekend when Town Grove in Salisbury will be closed. All of us do understand that it is inconvenient for those who use the gate and their invited visitors.
