Hello All and Happy Thanksgiving Eve!
I am posting to let you all know that MRI is working with a local trapper to remove some of the beaver from the lower lake area. Traps will be set underwater in the brook between the lakes where the beaver have been active lately. The traps will be set between Dec. 1 and Mar. 31 and should pose no risk to anyone, but just in case, please don’t go swimming or let your pets swim in that area starting Dec. 1 and ending Mar. 31. After the lakes freeze over, some additional traps may be set in other areas under the ice.
All property access for the trapper will be coordinated with Danny Brazee.
The primary reason we need to monitor and control the beaver population is because they actively interfere with the gates that control the water level in each lake. This proposes a maintenance and safety risk that we have an obligation to address.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.
Sincerely,
David Warner, Chair of Maintenance and Security, MRI
