Some of you may remember Ed Kirby, a resident of Sharon, and a great historian with particular passion for the local iron industry. Ed, who died Monday, was consulted at various times when the Mount Riga forge needed repairs. His daughter and son-in-law, Mo and Patrick Dore, have a camp on Riga Lake. Ed’s written and oral records (available on line and through the Salisbury Association) enrich our own “mountain lore” about Mount Riga’s place in history.
