As you know, the 2020 US Census is underway. The results impact local funding. Thanks to help from Cheri and Jamie (US Census field offices) and Emily (Town Hall) we have completed census info for all 42 “seasonal dwellings” on Mt. Riga. Easy-peasy, as only one was occupied April 1!
If you find Census material at your camp, ignore it- the info is already input. There should be no need for a Census Enumerator to visit your camp. If someone visits your home to collect a response for the 2020 Census, a) explain that yours is a “seasonal dwelling, unoccupied on April 1, 2020, census data has been completed and verified by the NY Regional Field Office” b) verify their identity: ask to see valid ID badge, with their photograph, a U.S. Department of Commerce watermark, and an expiration date. If you still have questions about their identity, or wish to report someone who does not have proper ID, call 844-330-2020 to speak with a Census Bureau representative. And let Dan know.
