You may notice the new “eagle” signs our Ranger, Dan Brazee,Jr. is posting around the mountain. With bald eagle sightings on Riga, and its 6ft wingspan-the recommended “social distance” – the “eagle” signs are an apt visual reminder. Everyone is encouraged to to cooperate to keep Mt. Riga safe this summer. Practice social distancing yourself. Ask your family and friends to social distance. Respect social distancing requests of others. Wear a mask if you feel safer doing so- please, no “mask-shaming”. Those camps with direct lake access, please consider swimming, boating and socializing at your own camp. That will leave more social distancing space available at dams for those who want to swim and boat, and who do not have direct lake access. If you are sick, stay home/ at your own camp. As the Riga season unfolds, our community’s management of Covid-19 comes down to each of us doing our part. Thanks for doing yours.
